MOTHER LAURA LOVING
Laura McNeil-Loving was born January 2, 1933 in Memphis, TN to Parents Willie Wade and Gladys Streeter. Laura accepted Christ at the age of eighteen. Laura left Memphis, TN and relocated to Portland, OR with her husband Jerry McNeil. Laura was close friends with the Kirscher family where she worked as their housekeeper for over thirty years, she also; spent twenty five years with the Singer Family.
Laura joined Philadelphia Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend B. M. McSwan and was member for over forthy five years. After Reverend McSwan ‘s death she joined Victory Temple Ministries now known as New Direction Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Archie Hopkins, Jr. and Lady Stacey Hopkins. Mother Loving loved being on the Mother’s Board at NDCC and she will be missed. Laura was kind, giving and a loving person, she helped so many in their time of need without any hesitation. Although she had no children of her own, she gave advice to her nieces and nephews who loved her as a Mother.
Preceding her in death: Husband Jerry McNeil, Husband Anderson Loving, brother William Palmer, Samuel Glover and sister Louise Longstreet. Left to Cherish her memory: Brother Willie Streeter, Jr., sister Hattie Lee Powell, sister in-law Bernice Streeter and a host of nieces and nephews family and friend, who will miss her deeply. A special thanks to Melonie Powell for her support in assisting in making Laura comfortable. Thanks to all who came by to visit , sent cards made phone calls and sent flowers
